Bruce B. Humphrey

post dateFebruary 29, 2016  •   post categories graduating with a B.S. in Real Estate from Florida State University in 1986, I began my career as a commercial real estate appraiser in Orlando for 10 years. Starting in the fall of 1996, I attended Stetson University College of Law where I concentrated my studies on real estate and trial litigation and graduated in December 1998. I was admitted to the Florida Bar in April 1999 and practiced with Brigham Moore, LLP, becoming a partner in 2003. In 2004 W. O. Birchfield and I formed Birchfield & Humphrey, P.A.

Since 2010, I have been recognized annually by Florida Trend as a member of Florida Legal Elite and have been selected to the Florida Super Lawyers list (2010-2018) in the Eminent Domain practice area.  I am rated AV Preeminent® by Martindale-Hubbell and am an active member of the Florida Bar Eminent Domain Committee.

My experience includes the representation of property owners in a variety of complex condemnation issues involving takings, severance damages and business damages. I have tried eminent domain cases in state court in Duval, St. Johns, Pasco and Lake counties, and have represented clients in the Florida counties of Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Bay, Washington, Leon, Gilchrist, Putnam, Nassau, Clay, Volusia, Seminole, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Highlands, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Lee, Martin, Palm Beach, and Dade.
